These MKI B-Speeds feature an early version of the famous Zeiss T* anti-reflective coating. The MKII received an updated, harder T* multicoating. As a result, MKI lenses flare more easily, have a bit less contrast, and look slightly milkier wide open compared to the cleaner MKIIs.
