ZEISS SUPER SPEED MK II (TLS REHOUSE)

ZEISS SUPER SPEED MK II (TLS REHOUSE)

Why is a rehoused vintage lens better?  The rehousing achieves an improved optical alignment nearly impossible to find in the original vintage housing.  This centering of optics allows for a higher and more symmetrical resolution across the image.  The rehoused lenses also no longer bind up when adding a clip on mattebox and no longer telescope when changing focus.  Additional improvements include a non-linear cam focus system, evenly distributing focus marks and giving greater accuracy for focus pulling at longer distances.

The TLS rehoused Zeiss Super Speeds showcase an improved image and professional housing while maintaining vintage qualities and expressive flare.

Zeiss’s never ending preoccupation with perfection hit a sweet spot from 1975 all the way to 2004 when they produced various generations of Standard and Super Speed lenses. Paired with today’s sharp modern sensors these lenses achieve a balanced look for a wide variety of projects.

Advanced optical designs with aspheric glass combined with rare earth elements (no longer legal in lens manufacturing) create an ultra fast T1.4 set with expressive flare. Both the ii and iii are optically the same as each other, with minor improvements to the engravings on the Mkiii version.
