Often hailed as the “Full Frame Super Speeds,” the TLS Zeiss Contax series brings the legendary optical soul of 1970s Carl Zeiss glass into a flawless, modern cinema housing. Sharing the exact same optical DNA and iconic T* multi-coatings as vintage Zeiss Super Speeds, these rehoused stills lenses allow cinematographers to capture a classic, high-contrast vintage look while natively covering large-format digital sensors.
The lenses deliver a high-contrast vintage look with rich micro-contrast, vibrant colors, and smooth skin tones, wide open producing a painterly “cat’s eye” swirly bokeh at the frame edges.
The TLS Zeiss Contax primes feature a 95mm front, driven by a smooth, 300-degree non-linear cam focus system. They are equipped with a custom 16 blade circular iris, ensuring perfectly round, creamy bokeh at any T-stop.
